Leadership, AI, wellbeing, and the importance of creating the right environment

Last week I attended the Engage Employee Summit in London and came away feeling very positive about where organisations are heading, unlike the amazing Banksy statue above!!!

There was a huge amount of discussion around executive coaching, leadership development, team off-sites, and creating environments where people can think clearly, communicate effectively, and align around a shared mission. But it was also clear that the rapid evolution of AI and the changing world of business are pushing leaders to adapt, grow their skills, and lead with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional intelligence.

One of the highlights of the conference was listening to Fearne Cotton speak about mental health and her company Happy Place. It was honest, human, and a reminder that performance and well-being are deeply connected. In many ways, I realised Fearne and I have a lot in common, I may well be the male equivalent Sorry Fearne :-)

What was really encouraging throughout the event was the openness of conversations around people, culture, and creating workplaces where individuals can genuinely thrive.

Serendipity also played its part, with some fantastic conversations and opportunities appearing in unexpected moments from the airport queue, the subway, restaurants to the coffee queue, which is often the magic of events done properly and a solidly good smile. All in all, it was a great few days in London, combining the summit with site visits, catching up with friends, to dinner with arguably the UK's best photographer as well and some time to enjoy the city itself.

Today, I find myself back in Zurich planning a luxury brand activation and once again the sun is shining.

At HOWARD&Co, we design corporate events, retreats, leadership off-sites, and brand experiences that bring people together in meaningful ways, so if you are looking at your next event or team experience, I would be delighted to hear from you.

Have a great week everyone.

Howard
